Rugged meets comfort
On the Metolius Arm of Lake Billy Chinook, this campground offers easy access to one of the area’s most popular lakes.
You can enjoy fishing and comfortable camping with the convenience of a boat ramp, docks and drinking water while surrounded by the beauty of rugged canyons and a diverse evergreen forest.
The campground features almost 60 campsites in two loops. Many sites can be reserved ahead of time, so plan to arrive early if you hope to land a first-come, first-served site on a hot Central Oregon weekend.
Motorized boats are allowed on the reservoir, making it easy to cool off with water sports or spend the day fishing for bass, trout, kokanee salmon, whitefish, and the occasional sucker, minnow or dace. The surrounding hills offer glimpses of bald eagles, mule deer, coyote and black-tailed jackrabbit.
The park is located in the Deschutes National Forest. PGE manages this site in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service.
Directions: From Cove Palisades State Park, head east on SW Jordan Rd to Grandview. Turn left on SW Graham Rd. This will become Montgomery Rd/County Rd 64; follow signs for Perry South.
NOTE: The last couple of miles of gravel road are rough and extremely narrow with sharp corners. They can be challenging and/or impossible for large RVs, trailers and these vehicles passing each other.
The road to Perry South can be narrow for trailers and RVs. Day use requires a $5 daily vehicle parking permit or a valid annual Northwest Forest Pass or a federal Interagency Annual Pass.

We’re committed to keeping our parks safe, clean, sustainable and welcoming – but we need your help.
Make a plan: Check for road closures, construction, fire bans, swimming restrictions or other conditions that may hamper your visit.
…and a plan B: Make a backup plan in case of crowds. Try visiting on weekdays or at off-peak times to beat the masses!
EV adventuring? While our parks do not have charging stations (yet!), check here for nearby locations that do.
Stop campfires from becoming wildfires! Keep campfires small, make sure your tent and anything that can burn is a safe distance from your fire, keep water nearby and never leave a fire unattended.
Keep it clear: Park only in designated areas. Do not double-park or block entrances.
Leave no trace: Help us protect these natural areas by staying on-trail, packing out your trash, and admiring wildlife from a distance.
